My tweet from today has inspired a new entry. But really, why do people judge others so much? I've recently started my freshmen year in college, and finding new friends is one of the first things you do when you get to college. How have some groups of people connected with each other? Besides from having similar interests, I've found that a lot of the time, if a common dislike in another person comes up in conversation, the group will end up in this down-spiraling of bashing people: clothes, personalities, looks, etc.

Why? I sure don't get it.

So, you may not agree with their beliefs, how they dress/look, their taste in music, etc. These things really don't affect how everyone else lives their lives, so why should we care so much as to talk or act upon thoughts about others? Why is does it matter if something about them is different from you? You could still have a perfectly good interaction with them even if you don't agree with something.

This kind of goes along with my stance on believing that it's pointless to sweat the small stuff in life. If one was to constantly worry about every little detail in life, they'd end up in a giant rut, especially when the big stresses were to hit. When we exclude, avoid, or talk about others simply because we think we don't like them based on these pre-conceived thoughts (aka judgments), it just adds to that giant list of negative thoughts.

The more negativity you add in your life, the more it eats at you, and the more it takes away from your happiness. So cut the crap, and focus on the happiness in life. :-)
